In the face of an economic meltdown, six men risked everything to strike it rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska. Todd Hoffman of Sandy, Oregon, along with his father, lead a group of greenhorn miners in search of the American dream and a new frontier. While leasing a gold claim in Alaska, Todd and company warded off bears, built homes for their families, and keep the operation running as they took fate into their own hands with a make or break venture that changed their lives forever. Years later they have mined in Alaska, Canada, Guyana, Oregon and Colorado. The show also follows veteran miner Tony Beets’ restoration of multi million dollar dredge, as well as young Parker Schnabel’s mining operation.
